The short version. This site has no accounts, no logins, and no forms. It never asks you for your name, your email, your NetID, or your grades, so it has nothing of yours to sell, leak, or hand over. Everything you see is built from public records, and every filter you click is handled by your own browser.

What the site itself stores

Nothing. There is no database behind this page and no server-side logging that we control. The course list is a static file your browser downloads once; searching, filtering, and sorting all happen locally on your device and are never sent anywhere.

What our host sees

The site is served by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs — IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser user-agent — for security and reliability. That is ordinary web hosting, not tracking, and we do not build profiles from it.

Your choices

Blocking cookies or using an ad blocker will not break the guide. Every feature — search, filters, sorting, the section tables — keeps working with third-party scripts fully blocked.

Where the data comes from

Course listings come from the University of Illinois Course Explorer. Grade distributions come from the Illinois GPA dataset, which is compiled from public records released by the University under the Freedom of Information Act and Urbana Senate item EP.25.072. Grade data is aggregate and reported at the section level; individual student records are excluded by the University before release, and no student is identifiable here.

If you are an instructor and believe something here misrepresents your course, email the address below and I will look at it.

Children

This is a tool for university students and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
